I did not come here to win

Androl and Pevara are an amazing story. Developing it in the last volume is exactly right. If one didn’t know this was the final volume it is precisely what would be expected. That they bonded each other is brilliant, it opens up so many questions into the nature of love. One of the strengths of the series is character development. Jordan never hesitated to introduce more characters, perhaps too many. And yet it feels perfect. For the first time I have respect for the red ajah. Sanderson does for them what he did for warders: gives us an insight into their humanity, making them actual people, starting with Silviana.

And I realize I am Androl. A cross between Androl and Lan. Like the former I have yet to find what is I am looking for. Like the latter I have yet to find peace. Perhaps they must find me.

I did not come here to win, Lan whispered, I came here to kill you. Death is lighter than a feather.
